Privacy Policy
EcomClarity ("we", "us") is a profit and advertising analytics service for Shopify stores, operated by AA Ecom AB (Sweden). This policy explains what data we process, why, and what rights you have. We aim to keep it short and honest.
What we collect and why
- Shopify store data — orders (amounts, line items, discounts, refunds, transaction fees), products, and inventory costs, fetched via the Shopify API you authorize at install. Used solely to calculate your store's profit and analytics.
- Meta (Facebook) ads data — campaigns, ad sets, ads, spend and performance metrics, fetched via the Meta Marketing API when you connect your Meta account. Used solely to show your advertising performance and, when you explicitly request it, to pause ads or change budgets on your behalf.
- Order attribution data — the marketing parameters (UTM tags) of the visit that led to an order, provided by Shopify. Used to match orders to the ads that drove them.
- Account data — your email address, name (optional) and a securely hashed password for signing in.
We do not collect or store your customers' personal information — no names, email addresses, phone numbers or shipping addresses ever enter our systems.
What we don't do
- We never sell or share your data with third parties.
- We never post to your social accounts or modify your store.
- We only write to your Meta ad account when you explicitly click pause/budget actions.
Where your data lives
All data is stored on servers in the European Union (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany), encrypted in transit. Access tokens are encrypted at rest. Sub-processors: Hetzner Online GmbH (hosting), GitHub Inc. (application delivery; no store data).
Cookies
In the app (app.ecomclarity.io) we use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in — no advertising or tracking cookies.
On this marketing site (ecomclarity.io) we ask for your consent to set one measurement cookie (the Meta pixel), used only to understand whether our own ads work. If you decline, nothing is loaded and no data is shared with Meta. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Demo store
Our public demo store (app.ecomclarity.io/demo) uses only fictional sample data. To understand how the demo is used, we collect anonymous, cookieless usage statistics — which features are viewed and a per-day salted hash of your IP address so we can count unique visitors. We never store your raw IP address and set no cookies on the demo. Legal basis: legitimate interest (product statistics and abuse prevention). This applies only to the demo — it does not run for merchants signed in to their own store.
Data retention & deletion
- Uninstalling the app stops all data collection immediately.
- Following Shopify's data-erasure request (sent ~48 hours after uninstall), all data associated with your store is permanently deleted.
- You can request deletion at any time at hello@ecomclarity.io.
Your rights (GDPR)
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Sweden: IMY). Contact us at hello@ecomclarity.io — we respond within 30 days.

If this policy changes materially we will note it here and update the date above.
